Well, I haven't posted in more then a month because I have been really struggling through the holidays and with major lack of sleep with the new baby. Thankfully, I did not gain any weight and actually lost one more pound. However, I haven't exercised at all and only journaled my food intake about 30% of the days. So as of January 1, 2009, as probably 50% of the American population did, I made a "re-commitment" to get back on track. However, it is the 8th already and still I have not exercised :(
One of the moms from our home school co-op suggested that we start a weight loss club once a week while our kids are playing after lunch. This is a great motivator for me and I am thrilled. Seven of us weighed on Tuesday and had a "meeting" of sorts. Our topic seemed to be in the exercise realm, and our lack of doing any. We ended the meeting with each one of us setting a goal to complete by next Tuesday. My goal is to do the Little Kicks Workout with my daughter at least 3 times before next week.
As a military family, I found out that we have access to this great site (which I can not list here). The site actually offers an assessment of your body type, weight goals, BMI and habits. It calculated that in order to reach my goal of losing 50 pounds in 6 months, I would need to decrease my intake by 480 calories a day and burn another 480 calories a day in exercise. I guess I have to exercise more then 3 times a week, huh? Baby STEPS I guess!!
In addition, I now have access to a personal health coach, who will be calling me in the next few days to keep me motivated and on target. Is that great or what?
The goals I set for myself on my Health Site and my weight loss group:
1. Increase my water intake daily
2. Journal everything I eat
3. Exercise at least 3 times a week (with my daughter for home school would be best)
Well, I officially declare that I am BACK ON TRACK!
